Trainee Space Planner [South Africa]

You are not afraid of data and technology and have a keen eye for detail and do not shy away from finding a solution to a problem.

You have “stickability” when it comes to embarking on a steep learning curve and figuring out how to use new and complex software. You are proactive and tenacious in the execution of tasks and are not afraid to get stuck in where needed.

You take initiative and consistently troubleshoot, and problem solve in order to ensure that deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare data to spec, for either Space Planning and/or Assortment Optimization (AO) projects
  • Source product dimensions and images
  • Edit, clean and store images in readiness for utilisation in Space Planning
  • Create, update and maintain Product & Image libraries
  • Build planograms in accordance with internal briefs; aligned to / adopting best practice standards
  • Realograms (as & when needed, alternately as an additional training element)
  • Carrying out of other ad-hoc administrative requests.


Your skills and experience include

A tertiary qualification BCom IS, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Market Research or equivalent.1-2 years’ work experience in Retail / Manufacturing is advantageous.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (business etiquette), with the ability to professionally communicate & interact with internal team members
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks to meet deadlines
  • Flexible and agile, with the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks and assignments
  • Pro-active and confident with the ability to communicate progress, developments and difficulties encountered on an ongoing basis
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
