Job Description Summary:
The purpose of this position is to ensure the efficient and timely development, approval and production of See’s Packaging. Ensures that packaging projects adhere to requirements and business goals by developing and driving project budgets, supporting cross-functional teams, and coordinating cost and schedule activities within the established project timelines. Works across multiple teams at See’s to drive and enable growth of the business.
Job Description:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $85k-$92k per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, in addition to a full range of generous medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Position Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple packaging projects at once from early development through commercial launch phases.
  • Maintain project plans, identify resource needs, and manage project schedules.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to define business requirements, manage timelines and develop strategic packaging category plans and execute initiatives that create value and reduce risk.
  • Define suitable strategies and objectives for programs to meet market and business needs.
  • Work to create and maintain the program schedule, ensuring key milestones from different disciplines are aligned.
  • Identify time and resources needed for various programs and special projects
  • Facilitate decision making and escalate when necessary.
  • Assist in the execution of projects that may include objectives for savings, process development or improvement, supplier consolidation, vendor risk management, and metrics tracking.
  • Ensure that product assortment plans and packaging finished good SKU strategy are clearly translated into a workable and actionable component SKU-level acquisition plan for Inventory Management teammates.
  • Develop streamlined processes and mechanisms to improve operational efficiency and communication.
  • Performs special projects as assigned by management.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance technology and innovation that will improve departmental effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering or related field and other experience in packaging technology, product development, or a related field; equivalent related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams for sustaining and new packaging efforts.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of packaging materials and equipment including flexible films, rigid plastics, paper, and corrugated.
  • Experience in high-volume consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • Validation of print technologies including pre-press, proofing and final production.
  • Experience with packaging design process, systems and tools.
